We are a new college preparatory elementary and middle school serving the students of Jackson, MS. Responsibilities And Duties - Safe Transportation
- Transport students to and from school, field trips, sporting events, and other off-campus activities.
- Follow a planned route and schedule, adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus.
- Ensure the safety of all students while on the bus.
- Student Management
- Assist students with getting on and off the bus, including those with disabilities.
- Verify permissions for students riding home with friends.
- Maintain discipline and a safe environment on the bus.
- Vehicle Maintenance
- Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route.
- Report any mechanical issues or concerns to the appropriate authorities.
- Professional Conduct
- Obey all traffic laws and regulations.
- Attend safety meetings and training as required.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and interact positively with students and parents
This job involves sitting for long periods as well as stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and climbing. Able to work a flexible schedule. Must be able to travel, enter, and exit a vehicle without assistance and withstand exposure to adverse weather conditions. Random drug tests may be performed. Qualifications - Possess a current MS driver;'s license and Commercial Driver's License Class B with a school bus endorsement required
- You must meet specific physical, hearing, and vision requirements as outlined by the Mississippi Department of Education. This includes passing annual physical examinations required
- Be able to pass a background check required
- Successfully pass pre-employment drug testing and random drug and alcohol testing throughout employment required
- High School diploma or its equivalent required
