Compensation: $50,000-$60,000 annually

We are a warehouse distributor selling to the automotive, commercial, and off-the-road industries. We provide tools, equipment, tire repair materials and supplies to these industries. We have been in business since 1939 with locations in Chicago, IL., Durand, WI., St. Louis, MO., and Charlotte, NC.

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Buyer to oversee product selection, purchasing, and vendor management. This role combines hands-on buying responsibilities with proactive support for our internal sales team. The Buyer will help ensure timely purchasing, accurate order processing, and responsive communication across multiple channels.

 

Key responsibilities include processing and tracking purchase orders , maintaining strong vendor relationships , and collaborating with management and cross-functional teams to ensure optimal inventory levels and customer satisfaction . In addition, this role will assist with managing the shared inbox, ensuring all inquiries are responded to promptly, and answering phone calls from sales representatives to provide timely support on product availability, order status, and quotation requests.

 

What You’ll do:

  • Research, select, and purchase quality products while maintaining optimal stock levels.
  • Analyze market and customer trends to guide category strategies and pricing.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and management to position products and drive visibility.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and terms.
  • Oversee product data accuracy, order processing, and timely delivery.
  • Monitor product performance and develop strategies for underperforming or overstocked items.
  • Help manage the shared purchasing inbox, ensuring inquiries are responded to promptly and routed appropriately.
  • Answer phone calls from sales representatives, providing timely support on product availability, order status, and quotation requests.

 

What You’ll Need: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent (relevant industry experience preferred; automotive background a plus).
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and related software.
  • Critical thinking, data analysis, and forecasting skills with strong attention to detail.
