We are seeking a skilled mechanical CAD designer with experience in conveyor, automation, and general machinery installations. Position is available immediately. Position requires up to 15% compensated national travel. This is a 100% remote (work from home) position.

Job Description

This is a full time permanent position that has opened up due to growth in the company. Mechanical drafting of electromechanical equipment, typically conveyor layout/structural support steel within a facility. Travel up to 15%. Our work week is 45 hours M-F.

Responsibilities

• Generation of layout and general arrangement drawings.
• Creation of bills of material (BOM).
• Creation of customer specific designs.
• Creation of technical documentation as required.
• Understand and interpret technical requirement specifications.
• Generate concept designs to meet technical requirements specifications.
• Optimize design concepts to provide most cost effective solution that will meet all specification requirements.
• Create and launch drawing documentation (2/3D drawings, ISO drawing standards, dimensional chain, CE/OSHA marking, outline drawings).
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, provide appropriate solutions to problems, and make decisions in a team environment.
• Contribute to the achievement of the target costs and development schedule.
• Ability to work independently from home office.
• Perform site surveys within the continental US (up to 15% travel).

Qualifications and Skills

All applicants must meet the following job criteria:

• Strong mechanical background required.
• Associate degree.
• Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor experience is a must.
• Understanding of structural steel design using beams, channels, angles etc.
• Working knowledge of basic hand tools very helpful.
• Millwright and/or construction trade experience helpful.
• Self-motivated individual.
• A high desire to learn about the automation/conveyor industry.
• Professional representation with customer.
• Minimum 5 years' experience with mechanical drafting discipline/aptitude.
• Material handling/conveyor systems layouts within customer facilities.
• Experience working remotely and space for a home office.
• Valid Driver’s License and one additional form of ID.
• TSC is a Drug-Free Workplace. All Applicants must pass a drug test prior to employment.
• 7 year Background check may be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
