NEEDED: Medical Assistant Services

LOCATION: FCI/FPC located at Highway 72, West, Three Rivers, Texas 78071

SCHEDULE: 8 Hours per day, 5 days per week, excluding Federal Holidays, not to exceed 40 hours per week.

HOURS: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM

QUALIFICATION:

• U.S. Citizen
• Must be certified from an accredited school or program
• Have a minimum of two years of experience.
• Must provide supporting documentation by providing diplomas, certificates, licenses, etc.
• Must be certified in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation in accordance with the American Heart Association.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening and law enforcement agency background check.

DUTIES:

• Shall provide the following services, which include, but are not limited to those listed
• below:
• Taking history and vital signs
• Performing electrocardiograms
• Giving injections/ immunizations/ tuberculin skin testing
• Providing patient education
• Assisting clinical staff during medical emergencies
• Restocking supplies in patient exam rooms
• Triage of patient medical complaints and referral to RN, PA or MD as appropriate
• Administer oral medications
• Dressing changes/wound care
• Other duties as permitted by regulations and certification
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area
• Preform limited waived laboratory tests
• Collecting laboratory specimens
• All services provided under the supervision of an RN, PA, or MD, for the Health Services Department
• Shall adhere to all standards and regulations associated with The Joint Commission (TJC) and American Correctional Association Foundation/Core Standards for Adult Correctional
• Institutions.
• Must also adhere to OSHA and BOP policies.
