Functional Medicine Clinic Registered Nurse/Clinical Support 
Location: Alive and Well Austin 
Reports To: Assistant Clinic Manager 
Status: Full-time, On-Site

Position Summary 
The Clinic Registered Nurse is a vital leader within the Alive and Well ecosystem, playing a central role in delivering exceptional clinical care, supporting daily medical operations, and fostering a culture of hospitality and wellness. This role ensures a smooth and elevated guest experience by collaborating closely with wellness practitioners, medical providers, and the operations team. Acting as both a clinical expert and team resource, the Clinic Registered Nurse contributes to care coordination, procedural readiness, and patient education while embodying our mission and values in every interaction. You will serve as a trusted point of contact for both patients and providers—offering clinical insight, compassionate care, and reliable support throughout the patient’s wellness journey. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Essential Job Functions  

• Clinical Practitioner Support 
  Provide hands-on clinical and administrative support to Functional Medicine practitioners at Alive + Well, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. 

• Prescription & Supplement Fulfillment 
  Assist with the accurate fulfillment of prescriptions and supplement orders, working closely with providers and retail/pharmacy departments. 

• Vital Signs & Patient Checkout 
  Collect and document vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, weight, etc.) at each patient visit. Facilitate a seamless checkout process, including charging for services, scheduling follow-up appointments, and reviewing next steps with patients. 

• Functional Lab Testing Education & Coordination 
  Educate patients on functional lab testing protocols. Check for lab results prior to patient appointments.  

• In-Office Procedure Assistance 
  Support clinicians during various in-office procedures including Pap smears, vaginal ozone therapy, and other treatments. Maintain a sterile, well-stocked, and organized clinical environment. 

• EMR System & Documentation Leadership 
  Utilize the EMR (Cerbo) for scheduling, charging, entering lab results, wellness plans, orders, and thorough documentation. Take initiative in keeping workflows current and adapting to software updates. 

• Administrative & Communication Responsibilities 
  Manage patient communication primarily through the portal and phone (approx. 90% of workload). Respond to portal messages, provider tasks, refill requests, appointment changes, billing questions, and other patient inquiries. Assist with uploading labs, processing charges, prior authorization and scheduling. 

• Patient Experience & Clinical Flow 
  Proactively support the patient journey by ensuring warm, clear communication and efficient coordination with providers. Turn over rooms quickly and prepare for the next patient to maintain flow. 

• Team Collaboration & Education 
  Actively participate in team case reviews, “lunch and learns,” and clinical meetings. Engage in ongoing education to stay current with functional medicine protocols, supplement programs, and evolving standards of care. 

• Cross-Functional & Multi-Location Support 
  Provide administrative and clinical cross-support across departments and multiple locations, including assisting with lab coordination, portal messaging, phone support, task management, and coverage during staff absences. 

Preferred Skills & Experience 

• Experience or familiarity with functional or integrative medicine models 

• Active State RN license and BLS certification 

• Proficiency in using Cerbo EMR (or similar platforms) 

• Comfortable with patient-facing sales (e.g., charging for services, selling packages/memberships) 

• Knowledge of supplements and specialty lab testing protocols 

• Strong communication and organizational skills with excellent follow-through 

• Detail-oriented and adaptable in a fast-paced clinic environment 

Qualifications 

• 6+ years of nurse experience with a hospital background but wanting a more health conscious role. 

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a diverse team. 

• Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. 

• Resourceful, flexible, and able to pivot quickly in a dynamic environment. 

• Tech-savvy and able to learn and manage scheduling and software platforms. 

• Physical ability to lift 30–40lbs and assist with procedure room setups.

Benefits: 

• No evenings or weekends are required. Clinic hours are 8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Thursday and Friday from 8:30pm-1pm. 

• 10 days of paid time off per year (80 hours). PTO starts accruing after 90 days. 

• Paid holidays on days the clinic is closed to observe a major holiday. We also close for a week during Christmas and through the New Year.  

• Eligibility to participate in company sponsored health care benefits program, which currently includes health insurance through Allied Health, and primary care support through a Direct Primary Care practice 

• Discounts on our Wellness Center services with free holistic therapies.  

Pay: 

$35 per hour
