About the Role :
We’re hiring two dedicated in-person tutors to provide small-group and classroom support in grades 3–5 at PS 195. One tutor will specialize in ELA, while the other will focus on Math. The specific subject area assignment for each tutor will be confirmed during the interview process. As a tutor, you will work directly in classrooms alongside teachers, delivering targeted support to help students strengthen their skills, build confidence, and achieve academic success.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to provide engaging and focused support in ELA or Math for students in grades 3-5.
• Work as push-in support, assisting teachers during lessons and working directly with small groups or individual students.
• Adapt instructional strategies to meet students' varying academic needs.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that motivates students to reach their full potential.

Schedule:

• Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
• Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Duration: February 25, 2025 – April 10, 2025 (excluding holidays and school conferences)
• Key Date Off: March 6 (Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences)

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: Prior experience tutoring or teaching elementary school ELA or Math.
• Subject Proficiency: Strong knowledge of elementary-level ELA or Math concepts.
• Team Player: Collaborative spirit and a desire to work closely with teachers and students.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to connect effectively with diverse audiences.
• Passion: A commitment to educational equity and social justice for minority and low-income students.
• Availability: Must be able to work the specified schedule consistently.
