The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an advanced practice registered nurse who serves as a nurse expert in Emergency Care Nursing, leader, consultant, educator, and mentor for the nursing staff and teams at UCSF Medical Center. The specialized knowledge and advanced skills required for this role include clinical expertise in the management of the emergency care patient population and related nursing care; design and implementation of evidence-based practice (EBP); education and mentorship; consultation; quality improvement; and team leadership. The role has three spheres of impact across the health system's adult services that include the patient/family, nursing/interprofessional teams, and the organization/health system. This role works collaboratively with the clinical and administrative teams to support and ensure high quality standards of nursing care and professional practice to optimize patient, team, and system outcomes.
Involves advanced expertise in evidence-based nursing and practice in a range of specialty areas, such as oncology, pediatrics, geriatrics, psychiatric / mental health, adult health, acute / critical care, among others. Provides direct patient care, teaching, mentoring, consulting, research, management, and systems improvement. Influences outcomes by providing expert consultation to all care providers and implementing improvements in health care delivery systems.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $209,447 - $235,840 (Annual Rate).
