The Epic Beaker CP Analyst is responsible for the implementation, support, and optimization of the Epic Beaker Laboratory Information System (LIS) module. This role collaborates with laboratory staff, clinicians, IT teams, and operational leaders to gather requirements, configure the system, and ensure it meets the clinical and operational needs of the organization. The Analyst ensures the accuracy and integrity of laboratory workflows, data, and reporting through effective system design and support.
Collaborate with laboratory stakeholders to understand workflow, operational needs, and compliance requirements.
Design, build, test, implement, and maintain Epic Beaker CP applications.
Analyze and document current and future state workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Perform system configuration and customization based on user and regulatory requirements.
Lead and participate in validation, integrated testing, training, and go-live activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve application issues and provide ongoing support post-implementation.
Work closely with the Epic technical team to ensure interfaces with instruments, middleware, and other systems are functioning correctly.
Develop and maintain system documentation, including build specifications, test plans, and training materials.
Ensure system compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP).
Provide on-call and after-hours support as needed.
Participate in upgrade and enhancement planning, testing, and deployment.
Assist in change control processes and maintain accurate change documentation.
Certification:
Epic Beaker CP certification required.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 3 years in clinical laboratory operations, healthcare IT, or Epic application support.
Experience with laboratory instrumentation, LIS workflows, and regulatory compliance.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Work Experience:
Prior experience with Epic Beaker CP implementations in a healthcare system
Experience with laboratory middleware, interfacing, or integration engines
Familiarity with accreditation standards and LIS validation processes
