AIR CARGO POWERHOUSE is looking for a General Manager to oversee shipping operations. This high-visibility role contributes to the safety, growth, success, and financial health of the facility, which engages in loading, unloading, sorting and organization of shipments. Cargo travels between trucks, airplanes, and warehouses and must be handled promptly to meet delivery deadlines and flight schedules.

KEYS TO SUCCESS: SAFETY, LEADERSHIP, CUSTOMER SERVICE

Responsibilities:
Manage airport cargo facility with several hundred full-time and peak season staff.
Ensure adequate resources to handle cargo volume and client KPIs/requirements.
Maintain a balanced budget and increase profits while remaining operationally sound.
Create, measure and review internal KPIs for most efficient practices.
Enforce safety and security protocols and take the lead on all investigations.
Prepare operational data and financial reports for internal and external analysis.
Communicate frequently (via phone, email and in-person) with VIP customers.
Review departmental and client SOPs for continuous process improvement.
Engage in interviewing, hiring, training, orientation, and conflict resolution.
Inspire, encourage and empower direct and indirect reports to reach their full potential.
Monitor staff performance and conduct reviews, corrective actions and discipline.

Requirements:

Management experience in a similar, fast-paced logistics environment.
Command of air cargo operations and safety protocols.
Ability to set direction, obtain buy-in, lead, and course-correct.
Understands the day-to-day and willing to pitch in to meet deadlines.
Visionary, proactive and meets challenges to fulfill company goals.
Comfortable with spreadsheets, MS Excel, reports and data analysis.
Relationship builder with colleagues, clients and vendors of all levels.
Willing to work outside of traditional business hours/days as needed.
