Job Description

Join our growing team! Real Salt Lake is looking for a talented and motivated individual to join its Grounds Crew! This part-time position (29 hours/week) will report to the Sr. Director of Fields and Grounds and the Fields and Grounds Superintendent. Under their supervision, you will participate in the maintenance of common grounds, sports turf grass maintenance, and related work as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

• Performs all duties related to athletic field maintenance and facility grounds maintenance including but not limited to:
  • Sod cutting and installation
  • Irrigation management.
  • Mowing, trimming and use of blowers.
  • Fertilizing with a walk-behind fertilizer. 
  • Creates field markings and logo painting
• Successfully and safely operates and maintains the following equipment:
  • Reel and rotary mowers
  • Tractors 
  • Utility vehicles
  • Backpack blowers
  • Trimmers
  • Top-dressers
  • Aerators
• Other duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Ability to take direction and multitask
• Possession of a valid driver's license and excellent driving record
• Ability to work evenings and weekends to accommodate the teams’ schedules.
• Ability to work independently with initiative and attention to detail
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Prior landscaping experience is preferred. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, balancing, crawling, and reaching
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.; up to 100 lbs. with assistance
• Overall work environment includes exposure to wet and cold conditions, heat, and various weather conditions.
• The noise level is usually loud.
