The Experience We're Looking For

Required:

  • Proven track record in residential interior design, with a focus on kitchens and bathrooms
  • Experience in a showroom, design studio, or high-end client-facing retail environment
  • Strong knowledge of luxury fixtures, lighting, and hardware
  • Proficiency in design software (SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar platforms)

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with HubSpot, SpecsBuilder, or other project management tools
  • Experience coordinating with vendors and managing product specifications
  • Established relationships within the building and design community

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Design & Client Collaboration

  • Create comprehensive kitchen and bath designs, including cabinetry, surfaces, fixtures, and finishes
  • Guide clients from initial concept through final product selection with expertise and enthusiasm
  • Develop mood boards, space plans, and curated product pairings that tell a cohesive story
  • Ensure design feasibility by collaborating closely with contractors and project managers

Showroom Sales & Support

  • Welcome and consult with walk-in visitors, helping them discover products that fit their vision
  • Convert inquiries into satisfied clients through attentive service and product knowledge
  • Support inside sales activities, including quotes, follow-ups, and order processing
  • Contribute to showroom merchandising and visual displays that inspire and educate

REQUIREMENTS

Experience & Design Expertise

  • Proven professional experience in residential interior design , specifically focused on kitchens and bathrooms
  • Strong understanding of cabinetry layouts, space planning, plumbing fixtures, lighting design, hardware specification, and finish selections
  • Ability to create unified, functional, and aesthetically elevated designs tailored to each client’s lifestyle and budget
  • Demonstrated success working in a showroom, design studio, or luxury client-facing retail environment
  • Experience presenting design concepts, reviewing plans, and guiding clients through selections from start to finish

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in design and drafting software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Chief Architect, 2020, or similar tools
  • Ability to produce technical drawings, layouts, mood boards, and curated product boards that support the design story
  • Strong knowledge of premium decorative plumbing, lighting, and hardware brands
  • Comfortable interpreting architectural plans, measurements, and contractor specifications
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to learn showroom tools and CRM systems (HubSpot, SpecsBuilder, etc.)

Sales & Client Service Skills

  • Strong consultative selling abilities — able to identify client needs, present tailored solutions, and convert interest into completed projects
  • Experience managing the full sales process: quoting, invoicing, product selections, order coordination, and follow-up
  • Able to build long-term relationships with homeowners, designers, contractors, and industry partners
  • Skilled at turning walk-in shoppers into loyal clients through exceptional service and expert product guidance
  • Comfortable working with both high-end clientele and technical trade partners

Communication & Collaboration

  • Excellent verbal and visual presentation skills when communicating ideas, materials, and design concepts
  • Strong written communication for proposals, product specifications, and client documentation
