Title: Lead Power BI Developer

Location: Hybrid position in New York, NY or New Jersey, USA.

Duration: 6 12 Months

Need someone with 10-12 years of experience

Job description:

As a Lead BI Engineer, you'll work on cutting-edge BI platforms, enabling end-to-end visibility and performance measurement through intuitive dashboards, seamless data modeling, and efficient reporting solutions.

The Skills You'll Need:

Core BI Skills

• Deep expertise in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, Power BI Service), SQL, data visualization, data modeling, and data warehousing.
• Proficient in working with databases like Oracle, MySQL, DB2, and Postgres; strong skills in writing optimized SQL queries.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing principles and hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.

Additional BI & Data Skills (Good to Have):

• Certifications in Power BI or any leading data platform.
• Experience with other BI tools like Tableau, MicroStrategy, and SSRS.
• Familiarity with Power BI Admin features, including version control, usage analytics, and capacity planning.
• Knowledge of diverse data analysis and presentation methodologies.
• Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, or Python.
• Exposure to multiple BI tools and experience migrating legacy BI solutions to modern platforms like Power BI.
• Experience implementing Generative BI use cases.
• Exposure to cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture and features.

Soft Skills & Business Acumen:

• Domain knowledge across industries such as Retail, BFSI, Healthcare, and Telecom.
• Familiarity with the complete SDLC.
• A creative, out-of-the-box thinker, able to bring fresh ideas beyond standard project scopes.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with a resourceful mindset and experience in identifying and mitigating risks effectively.
