Job Description Summary

The Logistics Manager is responsible for managing the efficient distribution of products to ensure delivery to the right location on time, at the required quality, and in the most cost-effective way. This role supports supply chain network optimization and cost reduction projects by analyzing and implementing strategic and tactical supply chain opportunities that drive efficiency and cost savings. Responsibilities include optimizing transportation, leveraging volume, implementing system enhancements, and expanding or reengineering the distribution network to improve service levels. Additionally, the role oversees fleet management to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practices, policies, processes, and procedures to improve logistics and operational performance continuously.
• Plan, manage, and evaluate logistics operations, liaising with business leaders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies, and customers.
• Monitor quality, quantity, on-time delivery performance, and transportation costs, partnering with 3PL providers to drive improvements.
• Manage logistics costs, including annual budgets, monthly reviews, and cost analysis.
• Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers.
• Manage import/export flow of goods, customs brokers, and freight forwarders.
• Recommend optimal transport modes, routes, and shipment frequencies for inbound and outbound logistics.
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of 3PL freight invoices.
• Develop and maintain key performance metrics, reports, and process documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and 3PLs to verify key project assumptions and measure post-implementation results.
• Oversee fleet management operations, including procurement, maintenance, fuel efficiency, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Implement fleet optimization strategies to reduce operational costs and improve vehicle utilization.
• Monitor and analyze fleet performance, including fuel consumption, route efficiency, and vehicle downtime, to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, licensing, and maintenance requirements for all fleet vehicles.
• Leverage technology and telematics to track vehicle performance, improve routing, and enhance overall logistics efficiency.
