Job Summary

If you're interested in a Maintenance Technician job, then this is the best role for you! We’re hiring for a Maintenance Technician at our Filer, ID location! In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining our facilities, as well as the machinery and equipment used in Production and Field Operations. Duties include routine preventative maintenance, exterior grounds upkeep, and light janitorial work. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, safety-conscious, and brings a positive attitude along with a strong work ethic.

Job Description

• Performs minor repair to all buildings and light equipment such as replacing light bulbs, handling minor plumbing repairs, minor repairs and maintenance of greenhouse irrigation and cooling systems, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Major repairs are performed by licensed contractors.
• Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance tasks by the scheduled date.
• Perform periodic inspections of company vehicles, maintain cleanliness of vehicles, and schedule maintenance through Bayer approved service outlets.
• Perform routine groundskeeping duties (mowing, edging, weed control, etc.).
• Completes parts and supply runs as needed.
• Assists with troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns.
• Load and unload truck shipments.
• Handles assigned work orders and work requests in a timely manner.
• Use equipment, including power tools and hand tools efficiently and safely. Keeps
• tools clean and maintained.

Skills Required

• 1–3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing or agricultural setting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office, internet usage, and relevant applications needed for the role
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Effective time management skills
• Safety-focused, with the ability to work within the guidelines set by Bayer’s Health, Safety, and Environmental department
• High attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
• Ability to operate and perform basic repairs on standard farm equipment (e.g., tractors, planters, irrigation systems) is a plus

Education/Training/Certifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

Additional Requirements

• Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check.
• Shift: 08:00 AM
• This position requires a 40-hour workweek, with flexibility to work varied hours and occasional seasonal overtime.
• Forklift experience (current or recent certification preferred)
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license required
• Physically capable of meeting job demands, including standing, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and regularly lifting 20–50 pounds
• Team assistance required for lifting items over 50 pounds

Pay Rate/Salary

• Estimated Salary: $17.00 to $25.00 per hour based on qualifications.
