What you’ll need to succeed as a Manager, Linehaul at XPO

Minimum qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in an LTL, supply chain or transportation service company
• Prior experience purchasing LTL and Truckload transportation
• Previous supervisory experience in a team-focused environment 
• Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management techniques and processes 
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint); able to perform and direct moderately complex analysis in Excel
• Strong analytical skills including using business intelligence tools
• Able to manage personnel on-site and remotely 

Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field such as Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Finance, etc. or equivalent combination of education, training and experience 
• Available to travel up to 25% of the time
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and leadership skills 
• Able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive materials and information 
• P&L management experience

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Collaborate with direct reports and departmental teams on achieving goals and performance targets
• Drive for results through leadership and clear communication with the team; create continuous improvement opportunities to reduce costs and improve profitability 
• Participate in establishing strategic plans with the senior management team; develop IT solutions, BI reports and third-party transportation providers
• Partner with field management teams to aggressively search for opportunities to improve operational execution, cost savings and profitability 
• Collaborate with all levels and departments to include executives and leaders of several functional areas, including Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Finance, IT, BI and Safety
• Provide strategic leadership and direction for assigned area; manage multiple teams with related activities that represent or significantly impact a sub-function
• Oversee projects that directly impact business unit strategy 
• Participate in business unit or corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs and people
• Continually review network design and apply modifications as needed
• Build and maintain partnerships with third-party transportation providers #LI-Hybrid
