We offer a broad portfolio of solutions for both people with diabetes and their professionals - from blood glucose monitoring (BGM) to information management to continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Our aim is to offer innovative products, services and comprehensive solutions for convenient, efficient and effective diabetes management.

Within the Mechanical Engineering department at Roche R&D Near Patient Care, you will help develop blood glucose meters, continuous glucose monitoring systems, and related application systems (e.g., test stands) for series production—all in accordance with relevant standards and regulatory guidelines. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be an integral member of an agile development team, directly contributing to the creation of high-quality, robust medical devices.

The Opportunity:

Your responsibilities in this role will include:

  • You will work closely with other departments and project teams, including operations and manufacturing. You will build the interface between the development and production teams, which is responsible for the development, construction and implementation of the production line.

  • You will collaborate  with external partners such as injection molding suppliers is an additional aspect of your daily tasks.

  • You have 5+ years of professional experience in the development of mechanical components and assemblies. In doing so, you have an affinity for practical activities and like to understand technical matters in detail by practically investigating and testing them.

  • Ideally, you have a basic level of knowledge of parametric design (Creo Parametrics, Solid Works) and plastics engineering, and have acquired and applied both preferably in a regulated medical device environment.

  • You are knowledgeable in at least two of the following topics: plastic technology, sterile component design, manufacturing and automated assembly of plastic parts

  • You are characterized by the ability to work in a team, drive topics independently and self-motivated, have strong communication skills and search for solutions and not for problems. You want to make a difference, are flexible and always keep an open mind even in stressful situations.

Preferred:

  • You have an advanced degree (e.g. PhD) in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or medical technology or a related field of study with 3+ years of experience.
