Job Description

Full Time Safety & Security Officer - Night Shift Schedule: 5:30 PM - 5:30 AM Job Summary The Safety & Security Officer is responsible for protecting and safeguarding Monastery and Shrine residents, visitors, employees and Shrine assets. This position works both indoors and outdoors and may be exposed to adverse weather conditions and hazardous situations. The Safety & Security Officer is a highly visible presence with a high degree of specialized public relations. This is a fairly active position with a lot of walking, lifting, bending and stretching. Essential Duties

Inspects and secures all public areas of the Shrine upon opening and closing of Shrine.
Performs regular security patrols throughout Shrine grounds and facilities.
Uses surveillance system to monitor Shrine property.
Provide effective and efficient guest services to pilgrims and visitors.
Is available to employees and pilgrims to address any safety & security issues.
Investigates and reports accidents, injuries, or health related events of employees and pilgrims.
Recognizes potentially dangerous situations and responds in the safest, most effective manner.
Coordinates with local law enforcement and first responders.

Other Duties

Attend the reception desk as needed.
Ensures work areas are neat and clean at all times.
Ensures all operational and safety procedures are carefully followed.
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
High School diploma (or equivalent) required.
Possess a valid driver's license and current pistol permit.
Able to successfully complete required firearm certification and CPR courses.
Be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
Committed to upholding the mission of Our Lady of the Angels Monastery.
Previous law enforcement, military, or security experience preferred.
Ability to act intuitively in an emergency situation.
Excellent oral and written communication and problem-solving skills required.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
