Job description:
We are searching for a highly skilled Private Chef to join a UHNW household in Beverly Hills, California.
The role focuses primarily on Northern Chinese cuisine; specifically Hunan and Sichuan styles with the ability to cook great Western dishes such as Californian, Mediterranean, and Italian cuisine.
This is a live-out role, working 5–6 days per week , preparing lunch and dinner for two adults (the principal and her brother), along with meals for household staff and occasional children's meals.
There is an existing cook who is dedicated to preparing meals for the 3 children in the household. The new chef will be focused on preparing lunch and dinner for the adults in the household, as well as any staff meals. The kids' meals will continue to be handled by the separate cook already in place.
The successful candidate must be able to operate independently, manage the kitchen with minimal support, and demonstrate a high level of organization, food safety, and cleanliness.
Responsibilities include full menu planning, inventory management, grocery procurement, meal prep and service, and ensuring kitchen hygiene meets top standards.
The role requires proactive kitchen leadership with attention to detail, proper food labelling, FIFO practices, and a flexible approach to changes in the family’s schedule.
Applicants must have strong culinary expertise in Chinese and Western cuisines , excellent kitchen management skills, and a deep understanding of food safety protocols. Occasional cooking for children (10-year-olds and two 4-year-olds) may be requested.
This is a full-time , demanding role with room for growth and a competitive compensation package.
