Position Summary

We are in an exciting age where technology is giving people even greater control of their own health and well-being. To meet the needs of our clients and members we are hiring for Product Development Director - New Solutions, Strategy and Solution Design which is a high profile, cross-functional role that will help to develop and deploy new products and evolve existing products to meet the needs of our clients and members. This role will be the convener of partners across the organization to ensure our products and services are meeting the needs of our clients and members. The position sits within the Evernorth Care Solutions team which is responsible for developing and managing programs and services that allow our 100 million members to make better pharmacy and health choices in the pursuit of vitality.

Essential Functions

• The role will be responsible for overseeing a team of contracting and partner management experts who help to negotiate and manage existing and future partnerships.
• The director will be responsible for leading and directing the business negotiation strategy, ensuring partnerships are meeting business needs, and working across the enterprise for alignment with various matrix partners.
• Determine prioritization of work for the team based on a variety of factors and ensure work is delivered on time to meet market and business needs. Prioritization will reflect stakeholder value, capacity planning, strategic planning, and changing market forces.
• Influence current and potential business stakeholders while developing a business case to drive the development and execution of new solutions inclusive of adding capabilities to existing solutions.
• Can take complex models and plans and articulate into simple, effective and engaging visual communications.
• Ensure solutions are adaptable to changing market needs and meet end buyer and users goals so they are attractive in market.
• Lead and develop sales strategies that help differentiate Evernorth in the marketplace and align our interest with those of our clients and their members.
• Deliver market message, product readiness, and training to sales, account teams, consultants, and brokers.
• Ability to quickly forge strong partnerships at varying levels across the organization, including the ability to engage team members in innovation and input, both within the team and across functions.
• Willingness to offer a unique point of view and respectfully challenge the status quo to help foster innovation and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with and influence cross-functional partners to provide support for clinical product, sales and account management as well as Clients from across the organization
• Is comfortable shifting focus from one priority to another when necessary, even if that means stopping mid-work to change directions.
• Ability to generate thoughtful design, direction, and actions from ambiguous or unclear environments.
• Coordinate with business and legal partners to determine legal, business and clinical appropriateness to develop and enhance program offerings.

Qualifications

• People leadership experience is a key asset.
• Experience reading, reviewing, and editing business contracts is a critical function of this role and would be highly preferred
• Advanced problem solving skills with the ability to work cross-functionally to resolve issues and generate results among potentially conflicting constituencies.
• Healthcare and business acumen with a tuned awareness to how clients buy and the pressures within the healthcare system.
• Experience creating value-based pricing models in healthcare.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage workload and meet project deadlines.
• Ability to lead a team with a dynamic workload within an environment of tight deadlines and significant pressure.
• Superior ability to work across all of The Cigna Group and learning about stakeholders businesses to continue to drive value in partnerships.
• Experience working with vendors and managing external relationships a plus.
• Experience in the art of engaging individuals through various channels to drive participation and satisfaction through the products we develop and launch.
• Proven leadership ability to lead and manage cross-functionally with a command of a dynamic, multi-faceted product that can adapt to market needs.
• Operate with a strong work ethic, integrity and resilience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to identify and influence key stakeholders.
• Ability to create products with incremental or MVP iterations, drive clear decisions and priorities, and proactively communicate with all stakeholders.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio. Ability to pick up computer applications quickly.
• Potential Travel 20%
• In person preferred in Bloomfield, CT or St. Louis, MO but would be open to other on-site Cigna Group locations
