About this Role:

Under the direction of a Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), the AGPA performs complex and varied analytical duties, and provides staff assistance on sensitive departmental and program matters. These activities require the incumbent to work independently and maintain working relationships with numerous internal and external partners. The incumbent will continually evaluate OSP needs and provide recommendations to management. The AGPA must possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills and demonstrate a high degree of initiative, independence and organization in addition to having knowledge of current office methods and procedures with particular reference to the work done by the OSP.

You will collaborate closely with team members and internal/external partners to contribute to the successful implementation of large-scale initiatives such as the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative, Medi-Cal school-based services, CalHOPE, and the CalAIM Justice-Involved Initiative. Your work will directly support DHCS's mission to provide equitable access to quality health care, leading to a healthier California for all. Statement of Qualifications Requirement Section

  • Ability to use sound decision-making skills while working in a fast-paced work environment

Telework and Salary Information

Telework: This position is currently eligible for telework up to three days per week and is required to report in person a minimum of two days per week. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change consistent with DHCS’  Telework Program and Government Code sections 14200 – 14203. Telework is available to California residents, and proof of residency may be required.

Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated office and residence subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

Salary: Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the temporary Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee receive a temporary reduction in pay in exchange for PLP 2025 leave credits. The temporary salary reduction percentage and the number of PLP 2025 leave credits are based on the position’s associated bargaining unit.
