Job Description

The Provider Support Specialist (PSS) is responsible for the support of Child Care Providers and Early Learning Child programs. This is done by maintaining accurate files, forms, and contracts, developing positive relationships with the Providers by ensuring they are aware of current changes to the Child Care Services (CCS) or Early Learning Programs. The

Provider Support Specialist will be responsible for increasing the number of learning centers to be registered as Child Care Services Providers and/or Texas Rising Star (TRS).

Essential Functions :

Adheres to the mission of SERCO.

  • Establishes, updates and renews provider agreements
  • Maintains and distributes provider lists to CCS staff
  • Maintains, updates, and distributes end date provider list to FMS and Case Managers
  • Submits monthly End of Month Provider reports
  • Maintains the CCS directory.
  • Responds to provider concerns and questions in a timely manner
  • Conducts annual provider visits
  • Assists with meetings and trainings to include hosting quarterly Provider Meetings and conducting new Director trainings
  • Recruits and enrolls new providers in collaboration with the board’s Early Childhood Manager
  • Creates, updates, and maintains Provider’s Files
  • Assists Client Service Specialist department as needed with openings at child care centers
  • Assists Providers with TX3C and Kinder Connect set up and troubleshooting

  Work Environment:

Operates in a fast-paced professional office environment. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel

1. Will travel within the SERCO region to conduct site visits.

2. Will occasionally travel to attend conferences or trainings.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate Degree preferred
  • High school diploma or GED certificate required
  • Three years of customer service experience
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and provide automobile liability insurance as required by the State of Texas.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation in order to travel within service area.

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing duties of the job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; for long periods of time. Employee must be able to drive for extended periods of time. Employees must occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, must be able to set up display area.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: Fast paced, demanding physically and mentally, will be in constant communications.
