PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Adult correctional population within the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction (DAC) system
• Patient Volume/Census: Variable per assignment and site
• Rounding: As assigned at inpatient facilities
• Phone Consults: None
• Case Mix: Psychiatric patients under DAC clinical oversight
FACILITY INFORMATION
• Specialty Backup Available: Chief of Psychiatry and multidisciplinary correctional healthcare team
• Support Staff Available: Administrative and clinical staff at DAC facilities
• Reason for Coverage: Ongoing psychiatric monitoring and clinical oversight within the DAC system
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: No
• Credentialing Timeline: Based on state approval process
• Orientation: Conducted on-site as required by DAC
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• Clinical monitoring of psychiatric patient flow within the DAC system
• Administrative participation with Chief of Psychiatry in care coordination and system oversight
• In-person patient assessments as indicated within inpatient correctional facilities
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active and unrestricted North Carolina PMHNP license
• Board: Not specified (PMHNP certification required)
• Certifications: Current BLS (AHA); ACLS (AHA) required for on-site work
• Experience: Prior correctional or inpatient psychiatric experience preferred
• Other Qualifications: Must provide current and detailed resume, proof of valid licensure, and certification compliance prior to consideration
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work directly with the Chief of Psychiatry to monitor and manage psychiatric patient flow within the DAC system
• Participate in clinical review, case discussions, and care coordination
• Conduct in-person assessments and provide psychiatric care at assigned inpatient facilities
• Maintain compliance with DAC policies and state mental health standards
• Complete all required clinical documentation accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with administrative and clinical teams to ensure continuity and quality of psychiatric care
• Maintain current certifications and licensure in accordance with state regulations
