Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Physician Assistant to join our growing, fast-paced mental health team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on patients' lives while working in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, including detailed patient histories and mental status examinations.
  • Prescribe medications and manage medication regimens for psychiatric patients, ensuring appropriate followup and care.
  • Provide followup care in 15minute appointments, addressing any medication adjustments, side effects, and progress.
  • Handle 30minute transfer appointments, facilitating smooth transitions of care for patients referred to our practice.
  • Conduct comprehensive 45minute intake appointments, gathering essential patient information for effective treatment planning.
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, therapists, and medical support staff, to provide optimal patient care.
  • Keep accurate and uptodate patient records in accordance with practice policies and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the medical team to adjust treatment plans as necessary and provide ongoing patient support.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • PAC (Physician AssistantCertified)
  • Minimum of 23 years of experience in psychiatric care or related field , including prescription writing.
  • Ability to independently assess, diagnose, and treat psychiatric conditions.
  • Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and evidencebased practices.
  • Comfortable working in a busy, highvolume environment with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a genuine desire to work with diverse patient populations.

Preferred:

  • Experience in outpatient psychiatric care or community mental health settings.
  • Familiarity with eClincalWorks (ECW)
