This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting. The RN will provide skilled nursing care to critically ill patients, manage complex medical equipment, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. The position requires a minimum of two years of ICU experience, proficiency in various medical procedures, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Floating to Medical-Surgical units is required.

Responsibilities:
- Providing direct patient care in a 10-bed ICU setting with a 1:2 RN:patient ratio.
- Managing ventilators (Servo and LTV), arterial lines, central lines, and other critical care equipment.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitoring patient vital signs, EKGs, and other clinical data.
- Responding to cardiac arrests and other emergency situations.
- Charting patient information using Allscripts/Paragon/Mckesson.
- Collaborating with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Performing patient assessments and developing care plans.
- Floating to Medical-Surgical units as needed.
- Charge nurse responsibilities may be required.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of two years of ICU experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- AHA NIHSS certification.
- Completion of 6 continuing education units (CEUs) on stroke-related topics prior to start date.
- Travel experience.
- Proctored EKG exam completion on Day 1.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or declination.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience as a charge nurse.
Special Considerations:
- 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM).
- Floating to Medical-Surgical units is mandatory.
- Facility has the right to cancel up to 3 shifts at no cost during the assignment.
- Pediatric cases are rare but may occur.
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required, but proof of vaccination or declination is needed.
Scheduling:
- 12-hour shifts (7 AM - 7 PM and 7 PM - 7 AM).
- Shift assignments are pre-determined.
