This Registered Nurse position focuses on providing skilled nursing care in a Medical/Surgical and Telemetry unit. The role requires proficiency in various nursing procedures, including cardiac monitoring, medication administration (especially cardiac drips), wound care, and EKG interpretation. Experience with stroke patients is essential. The position involves every-other-weekend and holiday work.

Responsibilities:
- Providing direct patient care in a Medical/Surgical and Telemetry unit.
- Administering medications, including cardiac drips.
- Monitoring cardiac rhythms and interpreting EKG strips.
- Performing wound care.
- Assessing and documenting patient conditions.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
- Floating to other Medical/Surgical units as needed.
- Completing 8 hours of facility-specific continuing education units.
- Maintaining accurate patient records.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse license in New York State.
- Minimum of two years of current experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting (less experience may be considered with specific skills).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- NIH Stroke Certification (prior to start date).
- Strong IV skills.
- Proficiency in reading EKG strips.
- Experience with various types of wound care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Travel nursing experience.
Special Considerations:
- Every other weekend and holiday work is required.
- Floating to other Medical/Surgical units is required.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5.
- COVID-19 vaccination documentation or declination required.
Scheduling:
- 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM shift.
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation.
