This Registered Nurse (RN) position is a Med-Surg float role requiring the ability to work across various units within a community hospital setting. The RN will provide skilled nursing care, administer medications, participate in treatment planning, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. A minimum of two years of experience is required.

Responsibilities:
- Providing skilled nursing care to patients in a Med-Surg setting.
- Administering medications and treatments.
- Assessing patients' conditions and documenting findings.
- Developing and implementing patient care plans.
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Educating patients and their families.
- Floating to different units as needed.
- Interpreting telemetry strips.
- Performing IV administration.
- Participating in the proctored EKG exam on the first day.
- Completing every other weekend shifts.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a hospital setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Ability to interpret telemetry strips.
- IV administration experience.
- NIHSS certification.
- Completion of 6 continuing education units (CEUs) on stroke-related topics prior to start date.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Travel nursing experience.
Special Considerations:
- Floating between units is mandatory.
- Every other weekend is required.
- The facility has the right to cancel up to 3 shifts at no cost during the assignment.
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are not being considered.
- COVID-19 vaccination proof or declination required.
Scheduling:
- 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM shift.
- Every other weekend required.
- Shift assignments and floating needs will be determined by the facility.
