Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and advising on the company’s safety program to achieve organizational safety goals.
• Stay up to date with federal, state, and local safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Collect, investigate, and communicate incident reports; recommend solutions to prevent future incidents.
• Distribute, coordinate, and track safety programs, certifications, and related documentation for project sites.
• Set and work towards safety goals for all project sites, ensuring thorough and accurate safety communication.
• Prepare, submit, and maintain safety records; ensure all team members are current on required training and certifications.
• Share relevant safety information with field teams, including best practices, lessons learned, and regulatory updates.
• Analyze job functions, procedures, equipment, and materials to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Maintain and inspect safety equipment, ensuring proper training and use by all employees.
• Manage inventory and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE) for all employees.
• Analyze incident data to identify trends and recommend preventive measures.
• Serve as the primary contact for safety-related incidents and accidents, leading investigations and reporting.
• Prepare and distribute weekly safety communications; maintain organized safety records and filing systems.
• Support city or county submission, review, permit issuance, and inspection processes for projects.
• Conduct new hire safety training and orientation sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of direct construction safety experience required.
• Knowledge of safety and risk management practices in the construction industry.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Ability to stand for 8-10 hours and frequently bend, kneel, stoop, reach, walk, climb, push, pull, grip, and carry; able to lift up to 50 lbs. independently.
• Comfortable working in inclement weather conditions and navigating stairs on job sites.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and site-specific equipment.
• Strong communication, training, and team leadership skills; ability to motivate and retrain as needed.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
