This role is essential for ensuring safety from the ground up, offering the opportunity to shape safety standards in a dynamic and innovative environment. We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead health, safety, environmental, and process safety initiatives at our new state-of-the-art specialty chemicals plant, currently under construction. This pivotal role involves overseeing safety during the construction phase and ensuring long-term safety and regulatory compliance once the plant is operational.

Key Responsibilities:

• Construction Phase: Manage safety protocols during construction, focusing on heavy lifts, hot work, work at height, and fire safety. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and handle emergency situations effectively.
• Operational Phase: Develop and implement robust HSE and process safety management systems. Promote a culture of continuous improvement in safety practices to maintain a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.

Working Conditions:

This position is based on-site with occasional travel required for audits, training, and project support. The role demands availability for emergency response and after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health Safety, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in health, safety, environmental, and process safety management, ideally within the chemical or manufacturing sector.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, including OSHA PSM and the EPA Risk Management Program.
• Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies such as HAZOP and FMEA.
