Saray Design Group (SDG) is expanding its services to include Project Management and is seeking an experienced Part-Time Project Manager to join our growing team in Chicago, IL.

This is a 1099-contract role with the potential to extend to full-time position based on performance and future project awards.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in the Greater Chicago Area for a Project Manager. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget management, and quality control. Daily tasks include coordinating with various teams, managing logistics, inspecting project sites, and expediting processes to meet project deadlines efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects concurrently to meet technical, quality, scheduling, and budgetary requirements.
  • Develop and execute project plans, including schedules, budgets, and strategies.
  • Serve as the primary client liaison, maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Oversee all phases of project delivery, including planning, design coordination, and construction administration.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful completion.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks proactively.
  • Contribute to improving best practices, workflows, and quality standards within the firm.

Qualifications

  • Project Management and Expediting skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within architecture, engineering, or construction projects.
  • PMP certification or equivalent credential preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of local construction standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites in the greater Chicago area.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check.

Compensation and Work Model

  • Compensation: $40-$60 per hour (based on experience)
  • Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week
  • Work Model: Hybrid (remote + on-site meetings)
