Description:
A Sterile Processing Technician, plays a critical role in the sanitation and infection control efforts of a healthcare facility. Their duties include sterilizing instruments and equipment, processing and maintaining inventory and fulfilling supply requests.
What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position: Ability to assemble surgical instruments, ability to work in decontam, able to operate steam/ sterrad sterilizer, ability to lift at least 20 lbs, ability read comprehend surgical set list
Retrieving contaminated supplies from medical facilities
Maintaining the inventory of sterile equipment
Preparing sterile equipment on instrument trays for surgeons and other medical professionals
Operating equipment to clean, disinfect and decontaminate surgical instruments, medical devices and equipment
Inspecting instruments and equipment for signs of damage and wear and tear
Unpacking, checking and stocking new equipment, instruments and devices
Delivering equipment and supplies to all areas of the facility
