Position Title: Systems Integration Engineer
Position Type: Full-time
Location: Columbia, MD
Clearance Required: Secret
Salary Range: $170K-220K (plus benefits)
Responsibilities: • Guide system integration for large-scale, distributed systems
• Interface with program management and engineering teams in Agile
• Support Linux and Windows components in high-performance computing
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system behavior, software, and hardware issues
• Analyze packet captures and event/audit logs for error identification
• Support development and production systems, applying updates and patches
• Assist with deployment, COTS software evaluation, and installations
• Coordinate outage windows to minimize disruption for users and testers
• Develop and update data flow diagrams
• Must have cloud deployment and implementation experience
Requirements: • Hands on Keyboard Experience troubleshooting IT systems and networks.
• Linux system administration experience.
• Virtualization experience required via any industry standard hypervisor.
• Experience deploying application software including application servers.
• Must be comfortable working on multiple infrastructure networks simultaneously to support multiple systems in various stages of manufacturing and debugging.
• Must have some level of experience developing system analysis, risk analysis, and/or vulnerability assessments.
• Must be capable of developing creative solutions to issues that arise on the fly and ensuring they are tracked and included in the Development, Integration, and Production environments before systems deployment.
• Must be capable of planning and prioritizing tasking based on mission and team needs.
• Must be an independent thinker, capable of performing high quality work, both independently and with a team in a fast-moving environment.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to occasionally work extended hours to support uptimes on production systems for mission critical national security level programs with high levels of visibility.
Desired: • Systems-of-systems integration and development experience using the most up to date and potentially beta software packages to better predict how future changes/updates/end-of-life/discontinuation by hardware and software vendors may affect systems operation as they each update or add features to their solutions on which our operations rely.
• Windows Server with Server Core administration experience.
• Wireshark Experience, with a focus on low level IP operations.
• Microsoft MDT experience.
• VMWare experience.
• Centos & Redhat experience.
• Experience with IP KVMs reaching into secured out-of-band networks.
• Powershell and PowerCLI experience with some knowledge of Python or REST APIs.
• SALT, Puppet, CHEF, or Ansible Experience.
• Experience with iSCSI and Flash SANs.
• Solarwinds usage and deployment experience.
• Familiarity with complex network systems, to include firewalls, Load Balancers, NIDS, NAT, PAT, VPC and complex ACLs on multiple hardware architectures including Cisco Nexus and Cisco Catalyst lines.
• Knowledge of PKI systems which use HSMs to validate key and NTP for synchronization.
• Recent hands-on experience with ArcSight Security Analysis.
• Past administration experience of OS’s that support a Linux Oracle database instances a plus.
Education: • Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field and at least eight (8) years of related experience or a master’s degree and at least six (6) years of relevant experience.
