The Opportunity 

The Trust & Safety (T&S) Lead plays an important role in protecting our customers, employees, and the community from abuse of Flock’s solutions, and help to create a safe platform experience so that all of our users around the world are empowered to enjoy their experience on our platform, every day. This role is on the Information Security and Risk team which works cross-functionally with our Product, Engineering, Policy, and Legal teams to keep users safe on our platform. This will be an individual contributor role.

The Skillset 

  • Experience managing multiple projects end to end, demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks, track deliverables and work independently with minimal supervision

  • Experience working with content moderation or online operations tooling and working closely with Product / Engineering to manage projects that improve safety and user experience

  • Strong analytical skills, including working with large data sets to solve business problems, and providing practical business insights (Advanced EXCEL, Google Sheets, etc.)

  • Experience in process optimization projects and identifying performance improvement or automation opportunities

  • Highly attentive to detail, with ability to accurately analyze lengthy legal documents

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience managing requests from multiple stakeholders and prioritizing features / bugs accordingly

  • Shown ability to work directly with all cross-functional teams and management

  • Self-Starter – takes initiative to identify opportunities to improve or build on processes and work products

90 Days at Flock

This serves as a preview of the 90 day plan you will receive if you were to be hired in this role at Flock Safety.

The First 30 Days

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities specific to the safe use of Flock's solutions.

  • Begin drafting a Trust & Safety roadmap to promote safety in user experience

  • Partner with colleagues on team-wide initiatives to promote a culture of trust and safety.

  • Document a program/management system for trust and safety that is compliant with regulations including data privacy (GDPR etc.), copyright, and law enforcement requests.

  • Develop and implement initial safeguards for online safety and site integrity.

  • Begin implementing automated solutions for detecting and responding to threats.

  • Communicate guidelines recognizing and handling suspicious behavior.

The First 60 Days 

  • Create and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for handling digital safety incidents and platform abuse.

  • Collaborate with the team to establish baseline metrics and KPIs

  • Work with product teams to integrate safety measures into product development

  • Establish scalable workflows for resolving trust and safety incidents.

  • Refine metrics and KPIs based on initial data and observations.

  • identify technology solutions to assist with automated threat detection

90 Days & Beyond 

  • Analyze data and report on metrics to measure the effectiveness of the program.

  • Identify areas for improvement and optimize workflows and policies.

  • Prepare a report on the program's progress and future recommendations.

  • Review and update SOPs and policies to address emerging threats a

  • Stay informed about evolving industry trends and regulatory requirements.

The Interview Process 

We want our interview process to be a true reflection of our culture: transparent and collaborative. Throughout the interview process, your recruiter will guide you through the next steps and ensure you feel prepared every step of the way. 

  1. Our First Chat: During this first conversation, you’ll meet with a recruiter to chat through your background, what you could bring to Flock, what you are looking for in your next role, and who we are. 

  2. The Hiring Manager Interview: You will meet with your potential future boss to really dive into the role, the team, expectations, and what success means at Flock. This is your chance to really nerd out with someone in your field. 

  3. The Technical Assessment: Our assessments seek to test the hard skills required to do the job. Engineers may find themselves in coding interviews or architecture discussions, sales roles may present mock discovery calls, and leadership roles may craft 90 day plans. Your recruiter will inform you of which assessment you will be assigned and ensure you are fully prepared for your big day. 

  4. The Panel: Learn more about the team, responsibilities, and workflows. You should be prepared to speak about past projects, how you collaborate and communicate with others, and how you live our values. Depending on the team and role you are interviewing for, you may meet with several teammates as well as cross-functional partners. 

  5. The Executive Review: A chance to meet an executive and view Flock from a different lens. Be prepared to ask well-thought-out questions about the company, culture, and more. 

Salary & Equity

In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary between $105-$130K as well as Flock Safety Stock Options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators. Your recruiter will discuss this in-depth with you during our first chat.

Where you fall within the compensation range is based on how you demonstrate the attributes and competencies required for the role.
