What You Will Do: - Operate drones to support various agricultural actives, such as planning seed, monitoring crop health, and applying fertilizers or pesticides
- Gather data through drone flights and analyzing it to make informed decisions about crop management and yield optimization
- Oversee the maintenance of drone equipment and troubleshooting any technical issues that arise
- Ensure all drone operations comply with relevant regulations and safety standards
- Continuously seek ways to improve drone technology and its application in agriculture to enhance productivity and sustainability.
What You Will Bring: - FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, APC license required
- Operate agricultural spray drones following FAA regulations and company guidelines
- Conduct pre-flight checks to ensure the proper functioning of the drone and its spraying equipment
- Safely handle, mix, and load pesticide and fertilizer chemicals according to label directions and work orders
- Collaborate with agricultural professionals to plan and execute precise pesticide and fertilizer applications based on crop needs and growth stages
- Maintain and troubleshoot UAS equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
- Monitor weather conditions and other factors that may affect drone operations, making informed decisions to ensure safety and effectiveness
- Keep detailed records of flights, applications, and equipment maintenance for compliance and reporting purposes
- Serve as a trusted resource in assisting in the development and improvement of UAS
Compensation & Benefits: Salary range $68,640-$80,000 annually. This range is estimated for a Drone Applicator Pilot in Salinas, CA. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
